Right now I'm editing the photos from the Wiksten fall 2008 photo shoot, and I thought I'd share a few. These photos are of the Lena dress. When I found this delicately beautiful silk-screened fabric, I couldn't help but think of my new favorite book, Printing by Hand by Lena Corwin. I haven't quite settled on a date for when I'll put the new collection in the shop, but I'll be posting more news and photos here throughout the week.
It was such a treat to have the gorgeous and talented Jessalyn model for me again. She is now officially the "Wiksten spokesmodel". Emily Moore took the photos, and I couldn't be happier with how things turned out. It was pretty awesome to get to work with such a kind and gifted photographer. Frankly though, I'm just glad we got through this thing in one piece! I won't bore you with the details, but there were a whole lot of obstacles/disasters that almost kept me from getting to this point. Nevertheless it all worked out, and I'm very excited.

i just got my issue of Domino yesterday, and saw your feature. you look great, and the room they styled is lovely as well :)
Can we miraculously become best friends by November, so that you can make a dress for me for my birthday?; seeing how I don't have money??? Ha! ;)
What a gorgeous dress, Jenny! I am excited to see the rest of your collection in a few weeks and am hoping you will bring back the gray Ellybeth dress and plaid Tova top from the fall 2008 collection. :-) Congratulations on the Domino feature too! I showed my husband the article last night and said this is the designer who made the gingham tank shirt I live in!
Make that winter 2008 Ellybeth and Tova...
